Developmental Genetics PhD Training Program Mentoring Faculty

If you indicate an interest in NYU Grossman School of Medicine’s Developmental Genetics PhD Training Program when you join the Vilcek Institute of Graduate Biomedical Sciences, you are assigned a faculty mentor during your first year to help with the following:

  • selecting a rotation lab by providing information about the different labs available in our program
  • advice about course offerings and requirements
  • choosing a lab for PhD training based on your interests

Ideally, your mentor should be a person with whom you have not chosen to do a rotation. This allows your mentor to be an independent source for scientific and personal advice about conducting research and managing life as a student.

The Developmental Genetics PhD Training Program includes over 40 faculty members from NYU Grossman School of Medicine and the NYU Department of Biology. Faculty are associated with different departments, and students can conduct research in any of the faculty members’ laboratories at either campus.
